Sell GmbH looks back on 40 years approval as a Design Organization

On the 6th of July, the German Sell GmbH celebrated a new milestone in its company history – their 40 year approval as a Design Organization. In 1971, the Luftfahrt Bundesamt, the German Federal Aviation Office, initially approved Sell as Design Organization for galleys. This approval enabled Sell to develop and approve galleys and modifications, as well as to obtain Supplemental Type Certifications (STC) from aviation authorities. Sell is one of a few companies in the European aviation industry, that can look back on such a broad history. At the end of the 1960s, this approval was introduced by the German Federal Aviation Office and, with the introduction of the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) in 2004, became the European standard. Thus, from the beginning, Sell is also EASA approved, holding today DOA Nr. EASA.21J.067. Based on this Certificate, the aircraft interior products, developed by Sell, including their integration into the aircraft, gain a worldwide acceptance by, among others, the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).
Sell is continuously subject to surveillance by the Civil Aviation Authority and has to regularly prove that the extensive and stringent regulatory requirements, accompanying the approval as a Design Organization, are and will be constantly met.
„Since 1971, Sell has successfully proven to meet the continually changing and increasing standards in the aviation industry. Sell is always considering the legal requirements in the aviation industry and thus delivers products to its customers, which fulfill the current, high safety standards in the aviation industry. The approval as Design Organization, includes the whole Sell product portfolio – in addition to the galleys, the galley inserts, stowages and other monuments in the area of cabin interior. This supports the image of Sell as a flexible, qualified company with high-quality products “Made in Germany”. (Gorden Falk, Engineering Director, Sell GmbH)
